At Starting Five Australia, our mission has always gone beyond just the game. We don’t just want to build great basketball players; we aim to develop well-rounded individuals who excel both on and off the court.
One of the most powerful moments that inspired our slogan came from a conversation with a parent whose son we had the honour to coach. He shared how his son’s time with us transformed more than just his basketball skills. While his jump shot improved and his court awareness sharpened, the real growth was in his character.
He developed self-confidence, discipline, and leadership skills that translated into every part of his life – from school to friendships and even at home. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
It’s about creating not just better players, but better people.

MEET THE TEAM
Zoran Joveski
Head of Coaching
Zoran is a Level 2 Certified Coach, with experience in all junior age groups - from under 12s to under 18s - as well as Men's and Women's Division 1 in the Basketball NSW Waratah League.
Zoran has coached representative squads for St George Basketball, Bankstown Bruins, including taking teams to the State Championship Tournament.
Zoran is also a Coaching Educator for Basketball NSW, and coaches as part of the NSW Developing Athlete Program.
Kate Joveski
General Manager
Kate looks after operations for Starting Five, including administration, marketing and promotions, as well as business development. She is also a Level 1 Certified Coach, qualified Personal Trainer with a degree in Sports Management. #CoachKJ
